Kevin Hemann - Public Service
Kevin Hemann graduated from Highland St. Paul High School in 1974. He attended Belleville Area College (now Southwestern Illinois College) 1974-1976. Kevin received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville in 1983. He earned this degree by attending night classes for several years while working full time at Highland Machine and Screw Products Company in Highland. Kevin continues to work at Highland Machine where he currently serves as Senior Vice President for Sales.

Kevin Hemann is the ultimate public servant in which the desire to improve the Highland community seems to be in his blood. His public service is best described by simply listing the organizations he has helped over the years. Otherwise, this bio will take multiple pages! Kevin served the City of Highland as a Councilmen 1991-1995. During that time he participated in the Glik Park fund raising efforts. Our local schools have greatly benefited from Kevin’s efforts. He served on the Highland Booster Club and co-chaired their golf tournament 1996-2003. Kevin Co-chaired the successful bond issues that renovated Highland High School and built Highland Middle School. Also, he was a member of the school district’s strategic planning process in 2004. Kevin has done much to support his alma mater, St. Paul, by chairing the 2011 efforts to renovate the St. Paul Gym. Additionally, Kevin has served the following organizations: Highland Business Education Alliance (1999 – Present) where he chaired numerous programs, Highland Knights of Columbus (1974 – Present), St. Jospeh’s Hospital Advsory Board (2001-2007), Highland Country Club (1990 to Present) where he has served as Secretary and Club President, Highland Optimist Club (1995 – Present) where he is integrally involved in the Optimist Basketball Shootout, Highland Area Community Foundation (2002-2008), Highland Khoury League and Highland Youth Baseball/Softball League (1983 – 1996), St. Paul Catholic Church where he has chaired the Kirchenfest numerous times and currently serves on the Education Foundation Board, Highland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (1999-2005) and served as President in 2001 and chaired Annual Dinner & Dance fundraiser 1999 – 2004, American Cancer Society “This Bud’s For You” Relay for Life Team that in 2008 honored Kevin’s father, Bud Hemann, as he battled cancer, served as Annual Drive Chairman for the Girl Scouts (1991) and Solicitor for the Annual Boy Scouts Fund Drive (1988-2002, and finally, member of the Highland Manufacturer’s Association (1990-2003).

Kevin has received several awards for his public service.
