Lynn Rehberger - Public Service
Lynn Rehberger is a 1966 graduate of St. Paul High School. After earning her degree in Special Education at Illinois State University, she returned to Highland to offer her service to the community.
Mrs. Rehberger began her efforts with the Swim Program at the Highland City Pool, working her way up to head instructor for the Swim Lesson Program. In the early 1970’s, she spearheaded and managed the synchronized Swim Team and Swim Shows for almost 10 years. Many individual - now adults - thank her for their first lesson in swimming and teaching them to be team players.
In addition to the Swim Program, Lynn was a member and President of the Junior Women’s Club. She served on the Library Board, the Planning Commission of the City of Highland and as chairman and member of the Athletic Booster Club for many years. When it began, Lynn served on the Highland Area Community Foundation. For the past 25 years, Lynn has been an active member in the Highland Historical Society, serving as chairman of the Power Show, now called Harvest Homestead Days, at the Louis Latzer Homestead. This event brings many individuals from miles away to Highland each year. Lynn Rehberger’s time and volunteering efforts continue to make Highland a better community to call home.
